A Successful Springboard into a Career: Practice-Oriented Training through the Practical Trainee Triesdorf–Kasachstan Project

The partnership between Kozybayev University, Weihenstephan-Triesdorf University of Applied Sciences, and CT Agro began in 2025. As part of the Practical Trainee Triesdorf–Kasachstan project, three students enrolled in the Plant Science and Technology educational program completed a 20-week training program at the Triesdorf campus in Germany. Two of them subsequently secured employment with CT Agro.

Recently, Magirash Sharimova, coordinator of the Practical Trainee Triesdorf–Kasachstan project, met with first- to third-year students enrolled in the following educational programs: Agronomy; Plant Science and Technology; Food Product Technology; and Livestock Production Technology.

She delivered a lecture entitled “Agricultural Management in Agriculture.” The students learned about modern approaches to agricultural business management, opportunities to participate in the international project, undertake practice-oriented training in Germany, and pursue further professional development at CT Agro. They also took part in the selection process for the next cohort.

In Kazakhstan, only two universities, including Kozybayev University, participate in this area of cooperation.

The project enables students to acquire up-to-date theoretical knowledge and practical experience in agriculture, explore advanced agricultural technologies, and learn the principles of effective agricultural production management. Upon completion of the program, graduates are employed by CT Agro. Thus, the project establishes a comprehensive career pathway: education at a German university, international experience, hands-on industry training, and guaranteed employment.

This partnership contributes to the development of competitive professionals by combining high-quality international education with real career opportunities in the labour market.
