From South Korea to a Master's Program at Kozybayev University
A 42-year-old South Korean citizen, Oh Jeong Gil, visited Petropavlovsk as a tourist to explore the region’s nature and learn about its agricultural practices. At home, in Hwaseong City, he manages a livestock farm. He saw great prospects for studying at Kozybayev University. The university has a strong professorial staff and material base for training agricultural specialists. Moreover, there are close ties with the university's partners - agricultural producers in the North Kazakhstan region, where the agricultural sector is historically very significant. Students do internships at these enterprises, graduates get jobs, and scientists conduct joint research on topics relevant to agricultural organizations.
"In Korea, I have my own farm for milk production. In the future, I want to start a farming business and develop agriculture in Petropavlovsk. The nature here is very good for such a business, especially for a dairy farm. Also, I want to create a network of contacts with Kazakh students, farmers, and entrepreneurs. Therefore, I am enrolling in this university. I want to learn how to manage a farm and understand how to run a business specifically in this region. I don't know anything about Kazakhstan and Kazakh agriculture. I only know the Korean situation and Korean business. So, I want to learn more about this at Kozybayev University," said Oh Jeong Gil.
He is enrolling in a Master's program at Kozybayev University in "Technology of Livestock Production." The course will last 2 years. During this time, the first Master's student from South Korea in Northern Kazakhstan will not only attend lectures. He will also have the opportunity to do internships and practical training at large livestock farms and processing enterprises in the region.
