The staff of Kozybayev University got acquainted with the Address of the President of the RK

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev delivered his annual Address to the people of Kazakhstan at a joint session of the chambers of the Parliament of the RK. The main theme of the strategic document was the development of artificial intelligence and the digital transformation of the economy and society. The President emphasized that Kazakhstan cannot stand aside from the global processes of implementing digital technologies.

Kozybayev University, as the only university in the region, sees the need to create a Center for Artificial Intelligence, which will solve digital development tasks on a regional scale. Already today we are training highly qualified IT specialists, including under dual-degree programs with the University of Arizona (USA).

The Head of State paid special attention to human capital and changing labor market requirements. A major initiative in this area was the "AI-Sana" program, which opened up new opportunities for students. All 6,000 students of Kozybayev University completed courses on artificial intelligence and received certificates. An important step was also the opening of the Huawei Academy on the basis of our university, where students study network technologies, Big Data, and other modern fields.

Agriculture was also named by the President as a key area of digitalization. Taking into account the agro-industrial specifics of the region, the university is initiating the creation of a situational center of digital solutions for the agro-industrial complex, as well as the development of new educational programs "Veterinary Medicine" and "Agroengineering". Together with the Northwest A&F University of China, projects on crop trial testing, animal husbandry, and biotechnology are being successfully implemented, and the Kazakh-Chinese Scientific Agricultural Center is being formed.

Great attention in the Address is paid to the careful treatment of water resources. Kozybayev University is already implementing scientific projects on the quality of irrigation and drinking water, irrigation, and risk monitoring in partnership with scientists from the University of Arizona and with the support of the US Department of Agriculture. As part of a program-targeted funding mega-grant, work continues on creating high-tech solutions for the effective use of water resources in North Kazakhstan.

The Address of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev sets clear guidelines for the country's further development. For universities, this means the need for accelerated implementation of innovations, training specialists of the future, and active participation in scientific research. Kozybayev University is ready to fully implement the tasks set, creating new opportunities for students, teachers, and the entire region.
