Kozybayev University - for education without age limits!

Today, technologies, digital services, and online communications have become an integral part of our daily lives. And it is especially important that the older generation not only keeps pace with the times but also feels confident in a rapidly changing world.

On September 15, 2025, the "Eurasian Silver Forum: Active Longevity and Education 50+" took place at the L.N. Gumilyov ENU. The forum was attended by Sayasat Nurbek, the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and Professor François Vellas, President of the International Association of Universities of the Third Age (AIUTA).

One of the key events of the forum was the signing of a memorandum of cooperation between Kozybayev University and AIUTA. Minister Sayasat Nurbek emphasized that this partnership will become an effective platform for exchanging experience and developing a systematic approach to educating older citizens.

Currently, as part of the "Silver University" project, three groups of students are already studying at our university in the following directions :

✔ Yoga

✔ Health Physical Culture

✔ Computer and Digital Literacy

Among the participants are pensioners, university employees, and city residents interested in self-development, health improvement, and mastering new digital skills. This is a clear confirmation that one can and should learn at any age.

Cooperation with AIUTA opens up new horizons for Kozybayev University. We share the values of lifelong education and strive to make it accessible, flexible, and inspiring for people aged 55+. These are not just courses—this is a contribution to active longevity and involvement in cultural, academic, and social life.

Plans include organizing joint conferences, publishing educational and methodological materials, participating in international grants, and implementing teacher and expert exchange programs.

We are convinced that creating an internationally-oriented educational environment is an important step towards building an inclusive society where age is a resource, not a limitation.
