One cannot guess how a word functions. One has to look at its use and learn from that. But the difficulty is to remove the prejudice which stands in the way of doing this. It is not a stupid prejudice.

Kozybayev University Expands International Cooperation in Robotics and Mechatronics

Representatives of Kozybayev University took part in the large-scale forum of the “Jiangsu–Central Asia” Education and Industry Integration Alliance held in Astana.

As part of the event, a trilateral cooperation agreement was signed between Kozybayev University, the Nanjing Institute of Mechatronic Technology (PRC), and the Kazakh company C2K International Education LLP. This agreement will enable students, researchers, and faculty members to undertake internships in robotic systems and mechatronics in China. It also provides for faculty exchange programs, supervision of PhD dissertations, as well as plans for master’s student training and the launch of joint double-degree programs.

In addition, Kozybayev University students achieved prize-winning results in a special Central Asian robotics competition held within the framework of the International Embodied Artificial Intelligence Innovation Contest (IEIC).

Students of the Department of Transport and Mechanical Engineering — Alexander Sivun, Maksat Amanzholov, and Dmitry Lifansky (team “NorthBotics”) — demonstrated outstanding performance in an intellectual competition featuring 15 teams from Kazakhstan, China, and Central Asian countries.

In the technical task “Simulation of a smart warehouse and agricultural harvesting with identification of 5 objects and their transportation to the assembly zone while avoiding obstacles,” they secured a respectable third place. In the second task, “Programming a guide robot that independently identifies visitors and escorts them in a bilingual environment (EN/CH), while avoiding dynamic obstacles,” they performed even better and took second place.

The team was supervised by Senior Lecturer Maksim Rakhmatullin.

This marks a significant breakthrough for the university’s young academic program “Robotics in Mechanical Engineering.” Congratulations to the participants and the faculty team!
