Bronze Medal at the Kazakhstan Youth Curling Championship
The Kazakhstan Youth Curling Championship and the Kazakhstan Curling Cup have been taking place in Astana since September 17. Around 200 athletes from eight regions of the country are participating in the tournament.
The competitions are held in four disciplines: men’s, women’s, mixed doubles, and mixed teams. The tournament will continue through September 30. However, the results of the women’s competition are already known.
The North Kazakhstan Region was represented by students of the Faculty of Education and the Department of Physical Education and Sports at Kozybayev University: Anastasia Mishurova, Kainikamal Sadvakassova, and Yeldana Taibupenova, who competed as part of the North Kazakhstan youth women’s team.
In a hard-fought competition, our athletes performed strongly and secured third place in the team standings!
The team is coached by Ivan Bunyashin, Senior Lecturer at the Department of Physical Education and Sports.
The championship has become an important stage in the development of curling in Kazakhstan. For the athletes, it is not only an opportunity to improve their skills but also a chance to qualify for international competitions.
