Kozybayev University Enters THE Sustainability Impact Ratings for the First Time

Kozybayev University has been included for the first time in the prestigious international THE Sustainability Impact Ratings 2026, which evaluates universities worldwide based on their contribution to achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

According to the results, Kozybayev University was placed in the 1501+ group, becoming one of the Kazakhstani universities represented in this global assessment. The university achieved its strongest results in the areas of Good Health and Well-Being, Quality Education, and Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions.

In 2026, more than 1,600 universities from 116 countries participated in the ranking and joined the newly established Sustainability Impact Network. This network represents the world’s largest community of higher education institutions dedicated to advancing sustainable development principles and sharing best practices in education, research, and societal impact.

The THE Sustainability Impact Ratings assess universities across four key areas: research, resource management, community engagement, and educational activities.

The university’s successful debut in the ranking highlights the growing international recognition of Kozybayev University, the effectiveness of its educational and research initiatives, and its contribution to addressing important social and economic challenges at both regional and national levels.

Inclusion in this international ranking opens new opportunities for the development of academic cooperation, the expansion of partnership networks, and the further strengthening of the university’s position within the global higher education community.
