Strategic Partnership Continues: University of Arizona Delegation Visits Kozybayev University

A delegation from the University of Arizona has arrived at Kozybayev University. Samantha Orchard, Professor of Practice; Kevin Carton, Manager of Global and International Programs; and Boris LaBianca, Student Affairs Specialist, will take part in the Samgau–2026 graduation ceremony.

On the first day of their visit, the delegation met with the university leadership. The participants discussed further cooperation and priority areas for the development of joint initiatives. They noted that the strategic partnership between the two universities has already proven to be highly effective.

This year will see the first graduation of 31 students from the dual-degree programs and 98 students from joint programs with the University of Arizona. More than 1,200 students from Kazakhstan, Russia, the United States, China, and Mongolia are currently enrolled in these programs. The partnership also supports promising research projects in genomics, sulfur polymerization, water resources, and agrotechnology.

During their visit, representatives of the University of Arizona will meet with graduates of the dual-degree programs, visit several cultural sites in Petropavlovsk, and explore the archaeological excavation site of the medieval settlement of Ak-Iriy, where university archaeologists have been conducting research for more than 20 years.
