Kozybayev University Summarizes Initial Results of an International Agricultural Training Program
Kozybayev University has become one of two universities in Kazakhstan selected to participate in the pilot project “Practical Trainee Triesdorf-Kasachstan,” implemented jointly with the Weihenstephan-Triesdorf University of Applied Sciences (HSWT, Germany) and representatives of the agricultural sector.
The pioneers of the program were third- and fourth-year students of the Plant Science and Technology educational program — Damir Amanzhol, Dauren Manaidar, Niyaz Satybaldy, and Arstan Murzashev. Over the course of four months, they studied at one of Germany’s leading universities of applied sciences, specializing in agricultural technologies, digitalization, and practice-oriented professional training.
As part of the program, the students studied modern approaches to agricultural production management. Field research visits and practical project work were an important part of their training.
All expenses, including tuition, accommodation, flights, and monthly scholarships, were fully funded by ST AGRO LLP. Upon returning to Kazakhstan, the participants continued their professional training at the company’s production site. Since August 5, the students have been completing internships, applying the knowledge they gained in Germany in real-world agricultural production settings. After completing their internships and receiving their Kozybayev University degrees, the program participants will be employed by ST AGRO LLP for a period of three years.
“Today, the agro-industrial sector is developing amid digitalization, the introduction of modern production technologies, and growing demands for professional competencies. Under these conditions, the university’s task is not simply to graduate students with diplomas, but to train professionals who can work with modern technologies, understand real production processes, and apply international experience in the context of Kazakhstan,” said Chairman of the Executive Board – Rector Yerbol Issakayev.
According to him, the participation of Kozybayev University students in the “Practical Trainee Triesdorf-Kasachstan” program was not only an opportunity to gain educational experience in one of Germany’s leading academic environments, but also a sign of confidence in the university as a partner in training modern professionals for the agro-industrial sector.
In autumn 2026, Kozybayev University and its partners will launch a new student selection process for training in Germany during the summer semester of the following year.
