Departure of the Kozybayev University Delegation to the Agrobiological Station

The visit was attended by Chairman of the Executive Board – Rector Yerbol Issakayev, university researchers, and Chinese agronomist Kun Bao.

At the Agrobiological Station, research is being conducted as part of master’s theses, along with joint variety trials with Northwest A&F University of China and Henan Agricultural Investment Corporation.

Researchers are assessing the adaptability and productivity of crops to identify the most promising varieties for the soil and climatic conditions of Northern Kazakhstan. Currently, the station is testing 7 Chinese-bred wheat varieties, 5 corn varieties, 3 flax varieties, 2 sunflower varieties, 5 rapeseed varieties, and 1 potato variety, as well as 18 corn varieties from the Henan group and 4 wheat varieties.

The main goal is to implement research findings directly in farms across the region by developing seed production, modern agricultural technologies, and digital solutions.

Faculty members, master’s students, and undergraduate students of Kozybayev University are involved in the research, creating an effective link between “university – science – production.”

This work aligns with the objectives set by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to develop the agro-industrial sector, improve agricultural efficiency, and strengthen the country’s food security.
