“Әділетті қоғамға – шыншыл сөз”: A Dialogue on the Values and Future of Kazakhstan

The Center for the Kazakh Language, Culture and Reading at the Scientific Library of Kozybayev University hosted a presentation of the new book by President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Әділетті қоғамға – шыншыл сөз.

It is symbolic that the beginning of the new academic year was marked by a discussion about a book, knowledge and values that are of particular importance for the development of modern society. The publication is a collection of selected speeches, articles and statements by the Head of State from different years. Its 21 thematic sections cover education and science, history and culture, language, digitalization, youth, social development and the future of the country.

The main part of the meeting focused on discussing the book from the perspectives of history, journalism, law and contemporary social development. Representatives of the university’s academic community addressed the participants: Associate Professor of the Department of History of Kazakhstan and Law, Candidate of Historical Sciences Zylikha Bimakanova; Professor of the Department of Journalism and Social Sciences, Candidate of Philological Sciences Zhаqyp Myrzantai; Academician of the International Academy of Information Sciences, Candidate of Legal Sciences Gulbakhsha Mussabayeva; and Associate Professor, Candidate of Historical Sciences Lyudmila Grivennaya. Particularly valuable was the participation of students in the dialogue.

“For the Scientific Library, it is especially important to create a space where a book becomes a starting point for intellectual exchange and the development of an independent reader’s perspective. May the academic year begin with books that help us not only discover something new, but also think, analyze and ask important questions,” said Asiya Yermisheva, Director of the university’s Scientific Library.
