One cannot guess how a word functions. One has to look at its use and learn from that. But the difficulty is to remove the prejudice which stands in the way of doing this. It is not a stupid prejudice.
Visit of Kozybayev University and Nazarbayev University Delegations to the S.M. Kirov Plant
The Kozybayev University team and a delegation from Nazarbayev University, led by President Waqar Ahmad, visited the S.M. Kirov Plant. The main objective of the visit was to learn more about the company’s operations and identify potential areas for cooperation.
The plant was established in 1928. Over the years, it has become one of the largest industrial enterprises in the North Kazakhstan Region. Today, it manufactures railway and oil and gas equipment, as well as multilayer printed circuit boards.
CEO Almas Nurgambetov showed the guests the plant’s production facilities and expressed his readiness for further partnership. He spoke about the technological processes, introduced the guests to the workshops and showcased the products manufactured there, ranging from heavy machinery to electronics.
“I am very impressed by the work of Kozybayev University and by how well it responds to the needs of society and the region and prepares valuable professionals. I am also impressed by companies such as the S.M. Kirov Plant, which enable their employees to pursue additional training and strengthen their professional potential so that they can contribute to the development of the region,” said Waqar Ahmad.
Establishing a three-way partnership between the two universities and the S.M. Kirov Plant will make it possible to identify the production facilities needed for the practical implementation of joint research projects.
“The main challenge is that our scientists develop solutions to various problems, but we do not have workshops or production facilities where these ideas can be implemented. You have an understanding of the local environment and context, as well as production facilities. Therefore, by working together, we can achieve positive results,” emphasized Gulmira Kanay, Vice President of Nazarbayev University.
Kozybayev University has been cooperating with the plant for many years in the field of specialist training. Every year, our students complete internships there, while under dual education and industrial doctoral programs, employees of the enterprise receive training at the university.
The next stage of the partnership will be the implementation of joint research projects.
