Kozybayev University and Chinese Partners Launch Training Program for New Production Facilities
In the North Kazakhstan Region, Kozybayev University, Xinjiang Agricultural Vocational and Technical University, and Taikun Corporation are combining their educational and industrial resources.
Kozybayev University hosted a meeting with its Chinese partners. The parties agreed to jointly train specialists in the agro-industrial sector. Students will have the opportunity to study in Kazakhstan and China, master modern technologies, and complete practical training at the corporation’s enterprises. Dual training is planned for senior-year students. The first intake may include 20–30 students. A double-degree program is also under consideration.
“We want to train specialists not simply within an educational program, but for specific production facilities and the specific competencies required by employers. This makes it possible to connect education, practical training, and employment into a single system,” said Yerbol Issakayev, Chairman of the Executive Board – Rector of Kozybayev University.
One of the areas of cooperation will be the training of specialists for Taikun’s projects in Kazakhstan. The corporation is considering launching a sunflower seed processing plant, as well as facilities producing vegetable oil, protein, and animal feed. The project is expected to create approximately 80 jobs.
“This is our first visit to Kazakhstan. Going forward, we plan to open a sunflower seed processing plant in Kazakhstan. The implementation of this project will create approximately 80 new jobs,” said He Jiansheng, Secretary of the Party Committee and Deputy Director for Human Resources at Taikun Corporation.
As part of the visit, the Kazakhstan-China Academy of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry and the Central Asian Training Center for Grain, Oilseed, and Feed Processing Technologies were opened.
“We need each other, and together we can achieve more. Combining the capabilities of the two universities will create opportunities for practical training and the preparation of highly sought-after specialists,” said Zhang Wei, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Director of the Institute of Animal Science and Technology at Xinjiang Agricultural Vocational and Technical University.
A memorandum was also signed on the education of Kozybayev University students under the Taikun Scholarship Program.
