Exchange of Experience and Prospects for Cooperation: Visit of the Delegation from Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University

Today, representatives of Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University visited Kozybayev University.

The delegation came to learn more about the strategic partnership project between Kozybayev University and the University of Arizona, exchange experience, and identify areas for further cooperation.

Chairman of the Executive Board – Rector of Kozybayev University Yerbol Issakayev introduced the guests to the university's modern laboratory facilities and research in the fields of food security, agriculture, water resources, and GIS technologies. He also presented IT products developed by students as part of the activities of Tomorrow School and the Center for Digital Transformation and Artificial Intelligence.

According to the Rector, more than four years of joint work with the University of Arizona have demonstrated the effectiveness of the project. Today, the microcampus in Petropavlovsk is not only training specialists but is also moving towards the practical implementation of large-scale research projects in rice genomics, the development of resilient crop varieties, and sulfur polymerization technology.

It is also important to note that the university is implementing a number of joint initiatives with Chinese partners. For example, together with Henan Agricultural Investment Group, the university is developing a project to establish a Kazakhstan–China Technopark for Agricultural Technologies and Export Development in Kyzylzhar District. As the only multidisciplinary university in the North Kazakhstan Region, Kozybayev University seeks, first and foremost, to respond to the needs of the region.

“We work closely with enterprises across the region. For example, we have moved to a model where diploma projects are developed based on their specific requests. Each graduate project addresses a particular task identified by organizations in the North Kazakhstan Region, businesses, or our partners. We have compiled a comprehensive catalogue of these diploma projects. In this way, we help the region address emerging challenges while giving our students an opportunity to interact with potential employers,” said Yerbol Issakayev.

The guests also took part in the seminar “Inclusive Educational Environment at Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University: Experience, Opportunities and Prospects.” The speakers were Nurlana Alimbekova, Member of the Executive Board and Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, and Natalia Radchenko, Head of the Department of Teacher Education and Management.

They spoke about the activities of the Dana bala Center for Continuing and Inclusive Education operating at their university.

“The Dana bala Center is an important part of our work. Its goal is to ensure that the results of psychological and pedagogical research are applied in educational organizations across East Kazakhstan. The Center pilots new teaching methods, organizes student internships, and helps adapt educational programs. Particular attention is given to early intervention technologies,” said Nurlana Alimbekova.

Kozybayev University has operated its Center for Inclusive Education since 2024. The Center is equipped with modern educational facilities and provides students with training in inclusive education in pedagogy and psychology, including through dual-degree programs with the University of Arizona.

These areas may also become points of connection for further cooperation, including joint research projects and the exchange of academic and practical experience.
