Teachers of the Future: How Kozybayev University Helps School Students in North Kazakhstan Region Choose a Career

Kozybayev University has signed cooperation memoranda with the Academician Y.A. Buketov Gymnasium School and the Kakimbek Salykov Secondary School in Sergeevka. The agreements are aimed at developing long-term partnerships, improving the quality of education, unlocking students’ intellectual, creative and research potential, providing career guidance, and enhancing teachers’ professional competencies.

An important milestone was the opening of pedagogical classes at these schools. Faculty members of the Kozybayev University School of Education held interactive sessions for school students and introduced them to the specifics of studying in a pedagogical class.

Three such classes have now been opened in the Gabit Musrepov and Shal Akyn districts. In October, two more classes are planned to open in the Kyzylzhar and Mamlyut districts of the North Kazakhstan Region.

The pedagogical classes are designed to provide students with early career guidance and encourage talented young people to pursue teaching as a profession. Students study the fundamentals of pedagogy, psychology, public speaking and leadership in greater depth. Classes are delivered by university faculty members both online and offline, while students also have the opportunity to visit the university and attend guest lectures by professors.

We are confident that the joint efforts of the university and schools will create new opportunities for students’ professional self-determination and the implementation of educational initiatives.
