65th anniversary of Professor Vladimir Vilkov
The head of the Biology department, Professor Vladimir Vilkov, celebrated his anniversary. At the ceremony to commemorate the hero of the day, his colleagues and students, as well as the leadership of the university, faculty and students, gathered.
Vladimir Semenovich is a graduate of our alma mater. Since 1982, he has been working as a teacher at the university, then as a senior lecturer, associate professor, and for 23 years he has been heading the Department of General Biology.
During this time, he proved himself to be a highly qualified specialist, able to solve educational and methodological problems. Under his leadership, more than 80 graduate and 18 master's theses were completed. Published 14 teaching aids on topical issues in the teaching of biology, 2 teaching aids.
Vladimir Vilkov devotes much attention to scientific work. In 1989 he defended his thesis: "Biology of waterfowl of Northern Kazakhstan." Since then, a number of studies have devoted this topic. Repeatedly participated in international projects and grant research: “Key wetland areas of Northern Kazakhstan”, “Identification and scientific justification of the nature reserve fund of the North Kazakhstan region”. He is the author of more than 150 scientific publications.
He is a member of the Council of the Association for the Conservation of Biodiversity of Kazakhstan (ACBK), the North Kazakhstan Regional Society of Hunters and Fishers, cooperates with the North Kazakhstan Territorial Inspectorate of Forestry and Wildlife of the Committee for Forestry and Wildlife of the Ministry of Ecology, Geology and Natural resources, educational and scientific organizations of Kazakhstan, near and far abroad.
For success in his work, Vladimir Vilkov was awarded the breastplate "For Merits in the Development of Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan", "Ecology of Salasynyn Uzdigi", "Big Gold Medal" of M. Kozybayev NKSU, rector's letters of appreciation.
