Project manager: N.P. Beletskaya, PhD.

Project executors: Dmitriev P.S., PhD., Fomin I.A., Master.

Terms of execution: 2019-2021

Amount of financing: 30,000,000 tenge.

Project goal: Development and implementation of a fertilizer production technology based on the ash of Ekibastuz coal (zolofos) for grain crops, potatoes, vegetables with field testing.

Expected results: Increased productivity, obtaining environmentally friendly agricultural products.

Description of the project: The results of agrochemical analysis of the material composition of the ash of Ekibastuz coal showed that it is a real storehouse of valuable elements (humus, phosphorus, nitrogen) for plants. The content of heavy metals in ash does not exceed the maximum permissible concentration (MPC), and the presence of the necessary nutritional elements makes it possible to recommend ash as a valuable fertilizer for growing crops.

A significant consequence of the use of the new fertilizer is the strengthening of the plant stems, which can prevent the lodging of cereals before harvesting. The property of strengthening the stems has been observed in earlier experiments. A very valuable indicator of the effectiveness of a new fertilizer is the ability to apply a new fertilizer together with the seed, which reduces the cost of production and mechanical influences that cause soil compaction. This method of introducing ash from Ekibastuz coal was proposed in 2010 by the candidate of agricultural sciences Gaas O.S. when laying the first experiment on the plots of SKSKHOS LLP.

The data provided in 2010 by the Regional Experimental Agricultural Station on the efficiency of ash use for wheat yield amounted to 0.9 c/ha. With the addition of a yield of 0.9 c/ha, the additional volume of grain from an area of 500 ha will be equal to 450 c/ha (45 tons).

Project objectives:

−behavior of calculations of the proportions of the components of the new fertilizer;
−preparation of the required amount of new fertilizer;
−carrying out sowing of grain crops on the specified plots and areas;
−conducting observations of crops during the growing season;
−harvesting, its implementation;
−summing up, making calculations in accordance with the contractual terms.
