The Hour of Integrity

Anti–corruption work is an important component of Kozybayev University's activities. We were one of the first among the higher educational institutions of the country to join the League of Academic Integrity of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Askhat Dzhakipbekov, Head of the Department of the Anti-Corruption Agency for NKR, got acquainted with the ongoing work in this direction.

Since 2018, the Sanaly Urpaq project office has been opened at the university, where a pool of anti-corruption activists from among students has been formed. As volunteer projectors, they check the exam procedure for academic integrity (compliance with the declared number of examinees, the presence of cheating and more). All this is carried out regularly as part of the "Clean Session" campaign. The guys shared with the guests their impressions about the proctor's work.

Acting Chairman of the Board – Rector Renata Apergenova reported on the work carried out at the university to form an anti-corruption culture among students and teaching staff. "We accept students who want to study at the university, and not those who came just to get a diploma. Therefore, we have closed the possibility of transferring to us from Russian universities that provide fictitious educational services," she said.

On the university's website there is an online portal "Anti-Corruption", which contains information about vacant state educational grants released in the course of study, free places in dormitories, data on student academic performance and channels through which you can declare the fact of corruption. In an online format, services for settling in dormitories are provided.

Representatives of the anti-corruption service got acquainted with the bookcrossing zone and the registrar's office, where students can directly receive services for registration of educational documents.

Then there was an "Hour of Integrity" with the participation of students. They talked about educating the younger generation in the spirit of honesty and integrity. We discussed the role of youth in the active fight against corruption.
