Holiday of Amal at Kozybayev University

Since the earliest times the welcoming of spring in Kazakhstan began with the celebration of Amal. On this day, people forgive all old grievances, representatives of the younger generation visit older relatives, paying respect to them. The traditional handshake “korisu” on this day is considered to be not just a greeting, but also a request for blessing from the elders. Amal is a holiday when people wish good to each other, communicate, rejoice at meetings with loved ones. All these traditions are observed during the first spring month. Festive table is always generous with treats: traditional dishes and sweets.

Kozybayev University attaches special importance to national holidays and customs, so Amal is no exception. There was held an event dedicated to this day at the campus. The students greeted each other, talked about the traditions of welcoming spring, showing a theatrical performance. Right here, in the open air, 70 kg of pilaf was prepared for them. Students, teachers and staff were able to enjoy a delicious dish for free.

At the same time the young men competed in the Kazakh national game "Borik teppek" in the gym. In earlier centuries, the participants pushed their hats - who is further, hence the name. Now they use heavy stuffed balls (1-2 kg). The competition, organized by the Bolashak branch of the Amanat party, was attended by about 40 people, representatives of 6 faculties of the university.

As a result, the students from the Faculty of History, Economics and Law turned out to be the strongest, dexterous and enduring. The Faculty of Education was awarded with the second place. The students of the Faculty of Engineering and Digital Technologies took the third place. Yelaman Kospayev (FHEL) showed the best result in the individual championship. Prize-winners and winners received diplomas and valuable prizes.
