Children in a World of Science

Kozybayev University and the Palace of Schoolchildren gave a real holiday on Children's Day to young people in North Kazakhstan. This is how the organizers strive to popularize science and support young researchers. There were organized master classes, competitions in robotics and chess, intellectual and cognitive virtual games. Children were able to visit open laboratories, behind the scenes of a puppet theater, to feel like young florists, artists, designers, researchers, and handmade masters.

Students and scientists of our university held a memorable Chemical Show. In the form of experiments they demonstrated complex processes of interaction between substances. There were "colored fountains" and "lava eruption. Also, meetings were held between students in grades 9-11 with the faculty of our university. They discussed enrollment in dual-degree programs with the University of Arizona.

In the afternoon, students and students took part in the Science talks science communication contest.  They had to talk in simple language about the scientific discoveries of Nobel laureates in engineering, medicine, biology, chemistry, physics or mathematics. The work was accepted in the form of videos. Only the top 10 students made it to the finals, each defending their project in front of a panel of judges at the full-time stage of the competition.

As a result, the winner was the tenth-grader Dariya Akhtaeva (Kenesov High School, Shal Akyn District)!

Second place went to Alina Nurmagambetova (M. Jumabaev IT School-Lyceum).

The third place on a podium was taken by Maxim Ilyinenko (Petropavlovsk school No. 2)
