The month of November was opened at the Faculty of Education with a guest lecture by a visiting professor from Turkey, within the framework of the program of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan to attract foreign scientists to the country's universities.
Dr. Yusuf Ozkul is Professor, Director of GenKok Research Center, Head of the Department of Genetics, Erciyes University, Kayseri. The GenKok R&D Center consists of several departments working in collaboration with each other, realizing 300 scientific researches.
Professor Ozkul met with defectology students and teaching staff of the Department of Special and Social Pedagogy, presented his university and talked about genetic factors that play a significant role in the causes of autism.
Professor Ozkul also shared the results of a research project in the field of genetics and autism. If the age limit of 41 for having a child can lead to a risk of autism was somehow in my head, then living near a metro station could also be the cause of the disease, which surprised me.
Despite a lot of research, unfortunately, autism remains a mystery today.
