Happy anniversary, Kozybayev University!

The University celebrated the great anniversary of the 85th anniversary of its foundation! It is one of the oldest higher education institutions in the country. And it all began back in 1937, when the Petropavlovsk Teachers' Institute was formed, which later became the PPI, then the NKU, M. Kozybaev North Kazakhstan State University.

During this time, the university has grown stronger, has undergone many transformations and today Kozybayev University occupies a worthy position in the list of universities of the Republic of Kazakhstan, which has been repeatedly confirmed by prizes in republican ratings and accreditations. Now there are more than 6 thousand students studying here at 7 faculties. A large-scale project of cooperation with the University of Arizona on two-degree and international programs is being implemented. A new modern educational and laboratory building has appeared on the campus.

During its history, the university has trained tens of thousands of qualified specialists who successfully work in Kazakhstan and abroad. At the solemn celebration of the anniversary of Kozybayev University, its teachers, staff, students and graduates gathered.

Akim of North Kazakhstan Region Aidarbek Saparov congratulated his alma mater: "Preserving the best traditions, the university staff successfully develops the university as a multidisciplinary educational complex, introduces modern technologies, advanced teaching methods. Extensive practical innovative activities, as well as innovative projects allow the university to confidently keep up with the times. Graduates reach great heights in various spheres of the economy and work fruitfully for the benefit of our Motherland… On behalf of the President, work is underway in the country to open at least 5 branches of reputable foreign universities. As part of this assignment, a two-degree program was launched jointly with the University of Arizona. This year 155 students from different cities are studying here. 500 more special educational grants will be allocated next year… It is important for us to build an international reputation of our university, which will become a center of attraction for talented young people. This will allow the formation of a new personnel pool of the region."

Chairman of the Management Board – Rector Yerlan Shulanov addressed the staff with congratulations and thanked them for their effective work. On this day, about 100 teachers, honorary professors, employees, partners, employers and students were awarded honorary diplomas of ministries, akim of the region, jubilee medals of Manash Kozybayev, and commendations. 

85 is not so much by the standards of famous world universities. This means that everything is still ahead – cool ideas, new educational programs, modern teaching methods, important scientific research! Congratulations to everyone whose fate is somehow connected with Kozybayev University, happy anniversary! Success and prosperity!
