On November 24, 2022, the Thanksgiving event was held by A.K. Sautbayeva the teacher of Foreign Languages Department.
Objectives:
- increasing interest in English;
- broadening students' horizons and familiarization with the cultural heritage of the countries of the language under study;
- development of attention, memory and observation;
- creation of conditions for the development of intercultural competence, for the formation of students' interest in the culture and traditions of the countries of the language under study.
This event was held with students of KYaL-22 groups. Students participated in the preparation of the holiday, namely drawing posters illustrating the symbols of the holiday (turkey, cornucopia, fruit basket, ship on which pilgrims arrived in America, traditional Thanksgiving family dinner). These posters were used as an auditorium design for the event, which featured 2 teams: Indians (Indians) and Pilgrims (Pilgrims). The captain of each team presented a thematic newspaper, emblem and motto. The teams competed among themselves in several competitions. For each correct answer, teams were awarded chips. In the final part of the holiday, a small festive concert was presented to the participants and guests.
