The Regional Student Olympiad in English

February 28, 2023, The Regional Student Olympiad in English among students of the 1st year of non-linguistic specialties was held at the M.Kozybayev North Kazakhstan University. The organizer of the Olympiad was the Department of Foreign Languages. 43 students took part in the Olympiad: M.Kozybaeva (23 people), Baiken Ashimov Peter and Paul College of Mechanical Engineering and Transport (4 people), North Kazakhstan Higher Medical College (4 people), Higher Construction and Economic College (4 people), Humanitarian and Technical College (4 people), Academy of NG RK (4 people).

The main goal of the Olympiad is to unlock intellectual potential, identify talents and develop student youth in the modern world, where knowledge of a foreign language is a key factor in the competitiveness of a young specialist to demonstrate skills in foreign language.

The Olympics began with a welcoming speech by the head of the department "Foreign Languages" m.p.s., senior lecturer Ismagambetova Lyaili Shokatovna. The Olympics took place in two rounds. The first round included tasks for grammar, vocabulary, reading, listening, writing. According to the results of the first round, the seven best students were determined, who in the second round had to demonstrate communicative skills and English skills. To assess the skills of students, a jury was formed as part of the PPS of the Department of Foreign Languages: Head of  Foreign Languages Department, Master, senior lecturer Ismagambetova L.Sh., Master, senior lecturer Umurzakova T.E., Master, senior lecturer Syrymbetova D.S.; teacher Zhusupova A.R.

The seats were distributed as follows:

2nd place - Amirhossein Moghaddasi Bardar, gr. APO-22, Eremenko Pavel, gr. ISU (US) -22

3rd place - Kuchmezov Oleg, gr. APO-22, Klimashenko Kirill, gr. ISU (US) -22, Tursynkhan Margulan, gr. ISU (US) -22
