Galimkair Mutanov: "We succeeded a lot"

Over the 85-year history of Kozybayev University, more than one head has been replaced, but everyone has made a great contribution to the development of the university. They are remembered with warmth in the soul and are always glad to see them again in the walls of their alma mater. One of those who participated in the formation of the university is the ex-rector, and now Acting Director General of the Institute of Information and Computing Technologies Galimkair Mutanov.

His meeting with the teaching staff and students took place at the university. Chairman of the Board – Rector Yerlan Shulanov noted: "Galym Mutanovich led the university for a long time, put his soul into it. The 90s are a very difficult period. Despite the heavy agenda, for 7 years he has brought the university to a decent high level not only in Kazakhstan but also abroad. Galym Mutanovich never forgot about development. Therefore, a lot of transformations were taking place at that time, the educational institution received the status of a "university", about 40 new specialties were opened, dissertation councils, a military department, and a multi-level education system were organized: the Daryn lyceum school, an art lyceum, a college. A lot of work has been done to strengthen the scientific and pedagogical potential and infrastructure. Over the years, Galym Mutanovich has brought up a large galaxy of students, graduate students, and applicants."

Words of gratitude and warm memories did not end. "I am glad to see my colleagues and friends. Then it was such a difficult time, but very interesting. When there was no light, I managed to find a diesel power plant somewhere in the factories to provide light to the 4th corpus. Gradually everything got better. No one thought that we would have a dispensary. We were one of the first to open a military department. As the Vice-Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, I managed to visit most of the universities of the country, and the NKSU is the only one that doubled in the difficult 90s," recalls Galimkair Mutanov.

The ex-rector noted his colleagues with awards from the National Academy of Sciences of the Higher School and presented certificates of honor and memorable gifts.

At the event, a memorandum was signed between Kozybayev University and the Institute of Information and Computing Technologies. As well as agreements with the National Academy of Sciences of the Higher School of Kazakhstan. This will allow to exchange experience, and knowledge and conduct consultations in the field of information and computing technologies; organize internships and professional development of teaching staff, doctoral students, and undergraduates; conduct joint scientific research, participate in grant projects and programs for the development and application of modern information and digital technologies, artificial intelligence, and robotic systems.
