Brilliant victory at the XII Summer Universiade of the Republic of Kazakhstan in athletics

21 medals, including 16 gold, leadership in the team competition, each of the 9 participants from our university ascended the podium – with such cool results, the alma mater athletes from the XII Summer Universiade of the Republic of Kazakhstan in athletics in Aktau returned! All this brought the absolute victory of the Kozybayev University team in competitions among 17 teams from all over Kazakhstan!

It was possible to become a leader thanks to the brilliant performance of our athletes in the relay, 200, 400, 800, 1500 and 5000 meters: in all these sports they have "gold"!

Vadim Levchenkov brought the first medal of the highest dignity to the university's piggy bank, beating rivals at a distance of one and a half thousand meters with a result of 3 m. 53 sec. He also won another stayer discipline - 5000 m. He completed it first in 14 minutes and 42 seconds.

Two more first places: in the 400 m race and at the same distance with hurdles, Mikhail Cherezov won. In the triple jump (14 m. 47 cm), Arsen Omerzhanov turned out to be the best. Also, our athlete Alexander Shuman became the second in the long jump.

Nikita Izotov received another silver medal at a distance of 1500 m. He also ran the fastest 800 meters in 2 m. 01 sec.

Anastasia Fomina took second place in the long jump and triple jump, and Alisher Amrin in the 200 m. Timur Chumak beat his teammate and all the other runners at this distance – he has the "gold".

One of the most spectacular types of the Universiade in Athletics was the 4x100m relay race. There were no equals to the national team of our university in the composition: Sergey Svitov, Alexander Shuman, Alisher Amrin and Arsen Omerzhanov.
