About the competition for filling vacant positions of teaching staff under international programs

Vacant positions: Professor /Associate Professor / Senior lecturer / Instructor in the development of language competencies

Qualification requirements of the teaching staff for international programs:

Professor — the presence of a PhD degree or a doctor in the profile (preferably from a foreign university) or an academic degree of the relevant sciences; the presence of an academic title (preferably), work experience of at least 5 years (including scientific and pedagogical activity), work experience in international educational organizations or in international projects is preferable; who is the author of at least 7 scientific articles in publications on the profile included in the list of publications recommended for publication of the results of scientific activity and 2 scientific articles in a foreign peer-reviewed scientific journal having an impact factor according to JCR or indexed in one of the databases Science Citation Index Expanded, Social Science Citation Index or Arts and Humanities Citation Index in the Web of Science Core Collection or having a CiteScore percentile index of at least 35 in the Scopus database (Scopus). Experience in managing scientific projects.

Associate Professor/Docent — the presence of a PhD degree or a doctor in the profile (preferably from a foreign university) or an academic degree of relevant sciences; the presence of an academic title (preferably), work experience of at least 3 years, including work experience in international educational organizations or in international projects (preferably); who is the author of at least 3 scientific articles in publications in the field included in the list of publications recommended for publication of the results of scientific activity and 1 scientific article in an international peer-reviewed scientific journal having an impact factor according to JCR or indexed in one of the databases Science Citation Index Expanded, Social Science Citation Index or Arts and Humanities Citation Index in the Web of Science Core Collection or having a CiteScore percentile index of at least 25 in the Scopus database (Scopus). Participation in scientific projects.

Senior lecturer — the presence of a master's degree in relevant sciences, or the presence of a PhD or a doctor's degree in the profile (preferably from a foreign university), or an academic degree; the presence of an academic title (preferably); work experience in educational organizations for at least 2 years, work experience in international educational organizations or in international projects is preferable; Kazakh and international certificates of advanced training and/or participation in training programs. The availability of scientific papers is welcome.

Language Competence Development Instructor (Kazakh / English) - Master's degree in the relevant field, work experience in educational institutions for at least 2 years, work experience in international projects / organizations is welcome; Kazakh and international certificates of advanced training and/or participation in training programs.  Knowledge of the taught language is not lower than the C1 level.

*Preferably, an international certificate / diploma entitling you to teach in English.

Special requirements:

Knowledge of languages:

Preferably, proficiency in the professional level of language competencies: State, Russian and English languages (valid international certificate confirming proficiency in English – at least 5.5 IELTS or its equivalent. If you have a diploma confirming the training in English, a certificate is not required.

Professional competence and personal qualities:

• Good interpersonal communication skills;
• Ability to work effectively in a team;
• Analytical skills;
• Ability to solve problems arising in the implementation of plans on academic issues;
• The opportunity to work on their own initiative, in the presence of tight deadlines;
• Ability to work with representatives of different cultures.

Computer skills:

A high level of PC proficiency (Microsoft Office), preferably experience with programs designed for statistical processing / data analysis.

Conditions for submitting documents:

Persons wishing to participate in the competition, within 10 calendar days, submit an application for participation in the competition to the email address international@ku.edu.kz and attach the following documents:

1. resume;
2. copies of diplomas of higher education, academic and academic degrees, a document of academic rank;
3. list of scientific works;
4. presentation of the project on the discipline for filling vacant positions of the teaching staff (in electronic form, no more than 4 slides).

The structure of the presentation project of the disciplines:

• Name and description of the discipline.
• The purpose, objectives and results of teaching the discipline.
• Methods and tools of teaching the discipline.
• List of literature.

The participant of the competition has the right to provide additional information concerning his education, work experience, professional level (a list of scientific publications, recommendations from the management of the previous place of work), as well as documents confirming work experience and qualifications.

 **In case of passing the competition, it is necessary to provide a complete list of documents, including originals for checking copies of documents.
