Visit of members of the Youth Policy Council under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan

The guests got acquainted with the new building laboratories. "We are implementing three strategic tasks of the President. The first is to build a strong regional university based on the principle of Nazarbayev University. The second is an international campus, a collaboration with the University of Arizona. We have been working in partnership for 2 years in the following areas: information systems, biotechnology, and this year we launched an inclusive education program, which includes defectology, pedagogy and psychology, and the methodology of primary education. Well, the third task being implemented is the Center of Academic Excellence," said Acting Chairman of the Board – Rector Renata Apergenova.

The members of the Council got acquainted with the scientific developments of University scientists and students in agronomy. They are especially relevant for the northern region of the country. This includes joint research with Chinese colleagues on the variety testing of crops resistant to the climate and soils of the North Kazakhstan region, as well as the study of the degradation of pasture lands in our region, the creation of a green conveyor and others. The new purchased equipment will allow analyzing the quality of agricultural products. And with the help of Geoscan drones, we can survey fields and other landscapes.

Equally relevant are engineering laboratories with devices of the world-famous Kuka brand, which allow for high-precision welding work, and medical laboratories. It is known that specialists in these industries are especially needed by the region. By the way, the employment of Kozybayev University graduates last year amounted to 85%.
