Project Launch

The opening ceremony of the Regional Project Office "Mamandygym – bolashagym" took place at Kozybayev University. This project is aimed at forecasting changes in the labor market in the region and early professional orientation of students.

The university staff will undergo a certification course on the methodology of foresight research in intensive mode within 5 days. Based on the training seminar results, they will join the team of the regional project office and conduct a foresight study with the participation of specialists from key industries aimed at creating a regional map of the need for personnel in the North Kazakhstan region.

Opening the event, Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan Sayasat Nurbek addressed the audience online: "By the end of next year, we plan to cover all regions of the country with this work. Special stages are being worked out, which, taking into account the specifics of the region's economy, the requests of large enterprises, will find a very important tool, where the akimat of the region on the one hand, an educational institution on the other and a business on the third, will be able to clearly understand what the economy of the region needs: what new professions are required, what skills and competencies need to be laid in new curricula and make adjustments to existing curricula, which specialties will become obsolete and leave the labor market." He also mentioned that it is important for the university to become deeply familiar with the methodology, as this creates an additional set of competencies, and to audit its own EP so that all of them are linked to the regional Atlas of new professions.

Currently, the "Mamandygym – Bolashagym" project is being implemented in 11 regions of the country. The Astana, Pavlodar and Mangystau regions have already completed the development of a regional map of personnel needs, identified promising professions from among the priority sectors of these regions and conducted professional diagnostics of students, based on the results, students determined their profile and opportunities for implementation in professional activities.
