The Librarian's Day is celebrated in Kazakhstan on October 24. Kozybayev University hosted an event in the open space format "Modern Library and Challenges of the Time" dedicated to this date. In a warm, friendly atmosphere, library staff and readers, as well as representatives of the Bolashak branch of the AMANAT party, talked about the prospects for the development of this university's significant division. Librarians who have long-term experience shared about their precious memories. All of them were awarded by gratitude letters from the Chairman of the Board – Rector.
At the meeting, Board member Rashit Belgibayev congratulated his colleagues and noted: "Today, the problems of students having the skills to work with information, its sources, the ability to identify relevant information, and interact with teachers are relevant for us. In this regard, the role of the librarian is very valuable. In our university, the library has a huge growth potential."
Nowadays, Kozybayev University has begun a large process of the library's transformation. Its fund has about 1 million copies of books in the State, Russian, English, German, French, Turkish, Chinese and other languages. Majority of the most popular literature actively used in the educational process has been digitized.
It is available in electronic format for students of all specialties. Also, students can use the Republican Interuniversity Electronic Library (RIEL) and the electronic database "Epigraph", where there are more than 4 thousand textbooks. There are 7 reading rooms and 8 subscriptions. Readers have the opportunity to study literature in the library's coworking areas.
