On the eve of the national holiday – the Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan, by Decree of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, state awards were awarded for a significant contribution to the socio-economic, cultural and spiritual development of the country, strengthening friendship and cooperation between peoples, public activity.
The Order "Kurmet" was awarded to Professor Kozybayev University, docent of the Department "History of Kazakhstan and Socio-humanitarian disciplines", Candidate of Historical Sciences Anatoly Pleshakov. The famous archaeologist has made an invaluable contribution to the study of the material culture and historical heritage of the northern region. For many years he has been conducting a comprehensive study of the early Iron Age settlement of Ak-Iriy near the village of Dolmatovo, North Kazakhstan region. With his students and schoolchildren at the site of the excavation, he managed to recreate the life and culture of ancient people.
The author's certificate "the museum under the open sky (reconstruction of residential complexes of the era of stone, еneolithic, bronze and early iron age)" was received. Thus, under the leadership of Professor Pleshakov, an attempt is being made to create a museum complex or a natural history park on the basis of one archaeological monument with the reconstruction of the processes of different epochs: from the Stone Age to the Middle Ages.
Anatoly Pleshakov headed the North-Kazakhstan archaeological expedition for more than 40 years. About 200 scientific works and monographs were published. Ten awards were awarded with honorary titles "Honored Worker of education of the Republic of Kazakhstan", "for merits in the development of science of the Republic of Kazakhstan", diplomas and gratitude letters.
