The competition for the award of vacant educational grants released in the process of obtaining higher and postgraduate education is conducted based on the results of the winter examination session of the 2023-2024 academic year in accordance with the Decree of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated August 25, 2023 No. 443 "On approval of the Rules for awarding an educational grant to pay for higher education" and the Academic Policy of M. Kozybayev NKU.
Vacant educational grants released in the process of obtaining higher or postgraduate education are awarded on a competitive basis to students on a fee-based basis in the context of groups of educational programs, forms and terms of study, taking into account the year of admission.
The award of vacant educational grants released in the process of obtaining higher education is carried out during the summer and winter holidays for available vacant places on a competitive basis.
The competition is held based on the results of intermediate certification based on the average Grade Point Average (GPA) for the entire period of study with the issuance of a certificate of awarding an educational grant.
In the case of identical indicators of the average GPA, students who have grades only A, A- ("excellent") have a preferential right, next of all – grades from A, A- ("excellent") to B+, B, B-, C+ ("good"), further – mixed grades for the entire period of study.
The applications received are considered at a meeting of the Competition Commission and the Academic Council.
The University, based on the decision of the Academic Council, sends a list of applicants for transfer to vacant educational grants to the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan for decision-making.
The Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan reviews the received documents and, if a positive decision is made, issues an order on awarding a vacant educational grant for higher and (or) postgraduate education.
The application and the relevant documents for participation in the competition are submitted to the BURSAR office: from 9.00 a.m. to 18.00 p.m., lunch break from 13.00 a.m.-14.00 p.m. (Building 2, office 227, tel. 49-32-52, 8-747-600-3613).
Documents are accepted until January 15, 2024, 6 p.m.
The application is submitted no later than the hour and date specified in the announcement of the competition.

1. Application of a student on a paid basis addressed to the Chairman of the Board - Rector of M. Kozybaev NKU for participation in the competition for awarding educational vacant grants.
2. The student's transcript.
3. A copy of the student's identity document.
