The Regional Olympiad in English

29.02.24-01.03.24 The Regional Olympiad in English among students of the 1st year of non-linguistic specialties was held in North Kazakhstan University named after M.Kozybayev. The organizer of the Olympiad was the Department of Foreign Languages. 42 students took part in the Olympiad: M.Kozybaeva SCU (27 people), Baiken Ashimov Peter and Paul College of Mechanical Engineering and Transport (4 people), Higher Construction and Economic College (3 people), Humanitarian and Technical College (4 people), Academy of NG RK (4 people).
The main goal of the Olympiad is to unlock intellectual potential, identify talents and develop student youth in the modern world, where knowledge of a foreign language is a key factor in the competitiveness of a young specialist to demonstrate skills in foreign language.
The Olympics began with a welcoming speech by the head of the department "Foreign Languages" m.p.n., Art. Ismagambetova Lyaili Shokatovna. The Olympics took place in two rounds. The first round included tasks for grammar, vocabulary, reading, listening, writing. According to the results of the first round, the top ten students were determined, who in the second round had to demonstrate communicative skills and proficiency in English. To assess the skills of students, a jury was formed as part of the PPS Department "Foreign Languages": Head of the Department of Medical Sciences, Master, Senior Lecturer Ismagambetova L.Sh., Master, Senior Lecturer Umurzakova TE, Master, Senior Lecturer Syrymbetova D.S.; teacher Zhusupova A.R.
The seats were distributed as follows:
1st place - Veremeychik Nikon, gr. ISU (US) -23-1a;
2nd place - Shabanov Alexander, gr. eiT (KZ-US) -23p, Abyzgalikyzy Zubaira, gr. BT (US) -23-1a;
3rd place - Kazbekov Ansar, gr. BM (KZ-US) -23-1, Nurzhaupov Nursat, gr. BT (US) -23-2a, Gerasimov Daniil, gr. BT (US) -23-1a.
