Annual regional subject Olympiad in Russian language and literature among students in grades 10-11 with Kazakh and Russian languages of instruction

On February 28, 2024, the annual regional subject Olympiad in Russian language and literature was held among students in grades 10-11 with Kazakh and Russian languages of instruction. While schoolchildren were completing assignments, an annual regional scientific and methodological seminar was held for secondary school teachers, teaching staff and students “Formation of professional competencies as a condition for preparing a competitive graduate.”

After the end of the competition, career guidance events were held for schoolchildren: a Lingua show and a presentation of the specialties “Russian Language and Literature” and “Philology”. All planned events went according to plan, those responsible for the preparation and conduct of individual stages of the Olympiad (teachers, students and undergraduates) coped well with their responsibilities.

The Olympiad involved an analysis of the practical skills and competencies of high school students, their level of proficiency in the Russian language and their ability to argue for an individual reading of a poetic text. The Russian language assignments were aimed at practical mastery of the skills of speech culture and written communication. Literature assignments were an oral analytical presentation, during which schoolchildren revealed the theme and problem of the poem.

The number of students participating in the competition:

11th grade – 42 people; 10 grades – 45

- schools with Kazakh language of instruction:

11th grade – 25; 10 grades - 19

The results were summed up in three streams - among representatives of innovative schools in the city, innovative schools in the region and secondary schools, with prizes being distributed as follows: one first place, two second, three third (statements are attached). Works on the Russian language and oral analytical presentations of students who did not take a prize in the overall results, but made a good impression, were awarded the nominations “High Philological Culture”, “Love of the Literary Word”, “Subtlety of Literary Analysis”; “Skillful mastery of the riches of the Russian language”, “Dedication in mastering the Russian language”, “Passion for the Russian language”.
