The 70th anniversary celebrated by Professor Andrey Solodovnik

"Man has a natural aspiration to rise. And if I am not a climber, I do not conquer mountain peaks, then I have the opportunity to conquer the peaks of knowledge. And to serve humanity with this," is how Andrei Solodovnik answers the question about choosing a scientific path, which he has been successfully following for more than 40 years.

The high scientific achievements of Andrey Andreevich Solodovnik, Professor of the Department of Physics at Kozybayev University, Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Associate Professor of Astronomy, Corresponding member of the Kazakhstan National Academy of Natural Sciences, Corresponding member of the National Academy of Sciences of the Higher School of Kazakhstan , are discussed at an international conference dedicated to his 70th anniversary. His colleagues, students, and companions not only from Kazakhstan, but also from Russia and Sweden congratulated the professor on his beautiful anniversary.

Andrey Andreevich was at the origins of the creation of a new scientific direction of astrophysical nature in Northern Kazakhstan. He founded the Center for Astrophysical Research at NKU by M. Kozybaev. In 2004, the university started operating an observatory with a planetarium, the only one at a higher educational institution in the RK. For about 17 years, Andrey Solodovnik led the work on 8 topics of research grants from the MES of the RK.

The most significant scientific achievements have been obtained in the field of physics of the upper atmosphere and near space, the nature of long-period variable stars. In particular, for the first time in world practice, the existence of physical links between meteorological processes and the evolution of global fields of silvery clouds has been proved. This fact, recognized by the world scientific community, allows us to consider silvery clouds as the most important marker of climatic and further large-scale geophysical changes. Along with this, a completely new method for registering silvery clouds in the infrared range has been proposed and tested, which can significantly improve the efficiency of ground-based observations.

"Under the guidance of Andrey Andreevich, three PhD theses and more than 30 master's theses have been prepared and defended, which allows us to talk about the creation of a scientific school of astronomy at our university. About 10 articles with the Scopus impact factor and dozens of CQAFES (Committee for Quality Assurance in the Field of Education and Science) articles have been published. The total number of publications has exceeded 260," said Acting Chairman of the Board – Rector Renata Apergenova.

The Chairman of the Board of Directors of Kozybayev University, Galym Baituk, shared warm memories of the beginning of acquaintance, which turned into a long-term friendship. He read out a welcome address from Chairman of the Senate of the Parliament of the RK Maulen Ashimbayev. Congratulations were also expressed by Gulzat Kobenova, Chairman of the Committee for Higher and Postgraduate Education of the MSHE of the RK, Serik Seidumanov, Director of the Institute of Philosophy, Political Science and Religious Studies of the RK, Baubek Oralmagambetov, Chairman of the Aerospace Committee of the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry of the RK.

On this day, the anniversarian was awarded the badge "Gylymdy damytuga sinirgen enbegi ushin". Speaking at the conference, Ruslan Alishev, head of the office of the Akim of NKR, announced that Andrei Solodovnik would be awarded the title of "Honorary Citizen of Petropavlovsk".

At the end of the event, there was a presentation of the book "Surprise from the Universe", which was prepared and published by Andrey Solodovnik for his anniversary, where he describes his life path, the stages of becoming a scientist and the areas of his scientific interests in astrophysics. We sincerely congratulate Andrey Andreevich on his anniversary! He became an example of a true intellectual, a gentleman, a strong family man, a real teacher and scientist, whose name is known far beyond the borders of our country!
