A delegation from the University of Arizona has arrived at the university, with which Kozybayev University has joint dual-degree programs in biotechnology, information systems, and inclusive education. This collaboration allows for expanding their list of programs and initiating joint research. One of its vectors will be research within the framework of the International Center for Water Resources, the memorandum for the creation of which was signed earlier.
Acting Chairman of the Board - Rector Renat Apergenov informed about the existing international and dual-degree programs of the partners. Dr. Kimberly L. Ogden, Chair of the Department of Chemical Engineering and Environmental Engineering at the University of Arizona, was interested in the direction of chemical technology at our university. Later, she met with representatives of the Chemistry and Chemical Technology Department to discuss academic and research activities.
Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture and Food Altyn Shayaһmetova completed a nine-month scientific internship at the University of Arizona. At the meeting with American colleagues, she shared the results of her trip: "It was an unforgettable experience not only in terms of scientific but also administrative work. We have big plans for further cooperation in the field of crop production, animal husbandry, water resources, and agricultural processing."
Next, students and faculty members of the Agrotechnological Faculty alma mater met with Dr. Duane Michael Wolfe, Director of Livestock Center at the Arizona Drought Initiative. The speaker talked about his research on cattle meat productivity, the influence of genetics, feeding, and other factors on meat quality. The guests also visited a number of regional farms, which serve as practice and dual learning bases for AF students, places of employment for graduates, and venues for joint research.
