Kozybayev University students played a key role in the victory of the North Kazakhstan Region team at the recently held Kazakhstan Presidential Pentathlon Championship! The team proudly secured first place, with our university athletes contributing an impressive 9 medals: 3 gold, 2 silver, and 4 bronze.
The standout performance came from Nikita Izotov, a fourth-year student, who claimed two gold medals — one in the 21–23 age category and another in the Overall Championship! This marks his seventh time being crowned the strongest pentathlete in Kazakhstan — an incredible achievement! Another student, Danila Svirzhevsky, also competed in the 21–23 age group and took silver, including in the Overall Championship, placing just behind his teammate.
Arkady Yesman earned a bronze medal and fulfilled the requirements for the Master of Sport title. Also bringing home bronze were Arsen Khamzin, Yulia Bezugko, and Angelina Kudryavtseva. Yuliya Kretz placed a solid fourth. All of these outstanding athletes are students of the Pedagogical Faculty, majoring in Physical Education. The team’s legendary coach, Aleksandr Vladimirovich Naumov, once again dominated the Veteran Category (40+ years), winning the title for the 56th time! Our sincere congratulations!
