An important task currently facing Kozybayev University — as the only university in the region — is building strong, collaborative ties with local enterprises to support sustainable regional development.
One of the largest national producers of equipment for crop treatment and protection is “AVAGRO” LLP. The Kozybayev University team visited their production facility and witnessed the scale of their operations firsthand. Today, AVAGRO machinery accounts for half of all chemical treatment work performed in Kazakhstan’s fields. The company’s products are in demand abroad and successfully compete with many international analogues. AVAGRO designs and manufactures trailed, self-propelled, and mounted sprayers — along with components and tanks — for chemical crop protection and mineral fertilization. For our agrarian region, having a local manufacturer of agricultural equipment represents a significant advantage. The company employs around 150 people, and we were glad to see several of our alumni among them.
We have signed a memorandum of mutual cooperation and proposed the creation of a Consortium uniting Kozybayev University and major industrial enterprises in the region. This systemic collaboration will support proactive workforce development tailored to the needs of North Kazakhstan and enable joint research and development projects aligned with regional industrial growth.
We believe that the partnership established today will lay the groundwork for future joint initiatives, advancing science and driving the region’s economy forward!
