A Strong Start: First Medals for Kozybayev University at the XIII Summer Universiade

The Kozybayev University team has made a strong debut at the XIII Summer Universiade of the Republic of Kazakhstan, currently taking place in Turkistan. This major sporting event brings together athletes from over 75 universities across the country. Our athletes entered the competition as last year’s champions of the Universiade in Aktau — and once again proved their high level of preparation!

On the very first day of competition, Kozybayev University’s track and field athletes won valuable medals for the team:

The women’s 4×100m relay team — Elena Berlina, Arina Mozgunova, Yuliya Kretz, and Yuliya Bezushko — claimed silver, demonstrating great teamwork and speed.

Nikita Izotov, a 4th-year student and international-class master of sports, showed confidence in the 1500m race and secured a bronze medal.

The competitive excitement grew on the second day — and our students returned to the podium:

Kirill Subbotin became the champion in the 800m race, showcasing great determination and physical strength.

Arina Mozgunova added another medal to both her personal and team record — bronze in the 100m hurdles.
