International Forum “Kazakhstan – A Territory of Academic Knowledge”
A major International Forum of Strategic Partners titled “Kazakhstan – A Territory of Academic Knowledge” is being held in Astana. The event has brought together leaders of Kazakhstani universities and representatives of 33 branches of foreign universities operating in Kazakhstan.
The forum focuses on exchanging experience, discussing global trends, and developing joint solutions aimed at strengthening higher education and science. Representatives of Kozybayev University, along with colleagues from the University of Arizona, took part in the event.
The program also included panel and plenary sessions devoted to digitalization, academic mobility, transnational education, innovation, and technology transfer. A key topic on the agenda was the integration of science and business, discussed during a session chaired by Vice Minister of Science and Higher Education of Kazakhstan Gulzat Kobenova.
Participants addressed issues related to the commercialization of scientific developments and effective cooperation with industrial partners.
One of the session speakers was Kozybayev University’s partner, Geoffrey Pyun from the United States. An internationally recognized expert in elemental sulfur research, he presented the scientific project “Innovative Sulfur-Containing Polymers: A Path Toward New Multifunctional and High-Value Materials.”
As the forum once again demonstrated, strategic partnerships with leading universities worldwide contribute to the development of a sustainable innovation ecosystem aimed at improving the quality of education and advancing Kazakhstan’s human capital.
