An Open Dialogue with Students was held at the university, featuring participants of double-degree programs with the University of Arizona, as well as a student who took part in the International Forum of Strategic Partners.
Recall that the International Forum of Strategic Partners, “Kazakhstan – Academic Space of Higher Education,” was recently held with the participation of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. Alongside representatives of foreign university branches in Kazakhstan, more than 20 students participated. Among them was Aruzhan Ermukhan, a student in the double-degree program “Information Systems in Management” at her alma mater.
During the meeting at Kozybayev University, Aruzhan shared her impressions of speaking before the Head of State, her emotions, and the new communication experience gained at the forum. According to her, studying in the programs offered jointly by Kozybayev University and the University of Arizona has fundamentally changed her life. She came from the Mangystau region and does not regret her choice of alma mater:
“Even in school, I dreamed of studying abroad. When I learned that a branch of the University of Arizona had opened in Petropavlovsk, I immediately decided to obtain both American and Kazakhstani education without leaving the country. Meeting the President and having the opportunity to speak on behalf of Kozybayev University was a great honor and responsibility. That day gave me a new impulse and enormous motivation for professional and personal development,” Aruzhan shared.
She also addressed her peers, encouraging them to take advantage of all the opportunities for world-class education available in Kazakhstan.
Today, around 1,200 young people from all regions of Kazakhstan, as well as students from the USA, Russia, and Kazakh diaspora returning from China, are studying at Kozybayev University under programs with the University of Arizona.
