On the Competition for Awarding Educational Grants Freed Up During the Course of Higher and Postgraduate Education

The competition for awarding educational grants freed up during the course of higher or postgraduate education is held based on the results of the winter examination session of the 2025–2026 academic year, in accordance with the Resolution of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated August 25, 2023, No. 443 “On Approval of the Rules for Awarding an Educational Grant for Payment of Higher Education” and the Academic Policy of Non-profit limited company "Manash Kozybayev North Kazakhstan University".

Educational grants freed up during higher or postgraduate education are awarded on a competitive basis to students studying on a paid basis, according to the relevant groups of educational programs, forms, and durations of study, taking into account the year of admission.

The awarding of educational grants freed up during higher education is carried out during the summer and winter holidays for the available vacant places on a competitive basis.

The competition is conducted based on the results of interim assessments, using the Grade Point Average (GPA) for the entire period of study, with the issuance of a certificate confirming the award of the educational grant.

In the case of identical GPA scores, priority is given to students who have only A and A- grades (“excellent”), followed by students with grades from A, A- (“excellent”) to B+, B, B-, C+ (“good”), and then students with mixed grades over the entire period of study.

Applications received are considered at a meeting of the Competition Committee and the Academic Council.

Based on the decision of the Academic Council, the university submits a list of candidates for transfer to the educational grants freed up during the course of study to the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan for a final decision.

The Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan reviews the submitted documents and, if approved, issues an order on the awarding of the educational grant for higher and/or postgraduate education.
