The first day of this bright time is Körisu Kuni.
On this day, people meet after the long winter and visit relatives, neighbors, and friends. It is an ancient Kazakh holiday of greeting that symbolizes the beginning of spring, the renewal of life, and friendship. On this day, it is customary to visit relatives, shake hands, say warm words to each other, forgive past grievances, wish one another well, and receive blessings from elders.
