The staff and students of the university laid the flowers on the monument of Magzhan Zhumabaev

on May 31, Kazakhstan people celebrates the Day of Remembrance of the Victims of Political Repressions - innocent people killed in the era of Stalin's regime, which claimed thousand human life. The staff and students of our university have participated in the ceremony of laying flowers on the monument of the son of the Kazakh people, an outstanding poet, who loved his native land and chant Magzhan Zhumabaeva.

The repressions of 1937... The list of "enemies of the people" contained intellectuals, who do a lot for the country. The well-known writers and poets as Shakarim Kudaiberdiev, Ilyas Zhansugurov, Beyimbet Maylin, Magzhan Zhumabaev and others were among them. They were waiting for arrests, shooting and camp. On May 31, in memory of these events relatives of victims of political repression, representatives of public associations met at the monument of Magzhan Zhumabaeva to honor their memory and lay flowers on the monument of of the outstanding poet.

After laying flowers and wreaths to the monument, all people of the meeting observed a minute of silence in memory of those killed during the political repression.
