3 days of sport events and outstanding achievements

From May 17 to May 20, 2013 VII Summer University Games with the swimming competition among students of HEIs of the Republic of Kazakhstan took place in the swimming pool of NKSU named after M. Kozybayev. Seven teams from Almaty, Taldykorgan, Kostanai, Pavlodar, Shymkent, Taraz and Petropavlovsk won 24 complete set of prize medals.

Sport event began with ceremonial parade of teams; among the participants were Masters of Sport, International Class, champions of Asia and Kazakhstan, and participants of Olympic Games. Undasyn Ashimov, Rector of NKSU, wished sportsmen success, outstanding achievements and fair uncompromising struggle. After welcoming speech and creative events first races began (50-100-200-meter freestyle, butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke, 4x50 meters relay). According to the results of final protocol, the struggle for prize-winning places was serious. Team of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University were leaders in the team event, sportsmen of NKSU named after M. Kozybayev were second and TarSPI took the 3^rd place. According to the participants of Summer University Games, competitions were at a high level.
