Teleconference "Kiev - Petropavlovsk"

Within the framework of the Days of Ukrainian Culture, the Department of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan of M. Kozybaev NKSU with the support of Kiev National University named after T. Shevchenko held a teleconference on the topic: “Preserving Ethnocultural Identity in the Conditions of Megacities and Large Cities,” which allowed Kazakhs living in Ukraine to talk about how they manage to maintain ethnocultural identity in the territory of another state and about their life away from their homeland . The head of the Kazakh cultural center of Kiev, Dzhangutdinov M.O. He noted that Kazakhstan’s experience in the functioning of APK is exemplary and that the state creates all the conditions and opportunities for maintaining cultural identity for many ethnic groups. While in Ukraine, various national cultural centers exist at the expense of self-financing or funds of the Embassies.

In turn, the head of the Department of the History of World Ukraine, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor Sergeychuk V.I. spoke about the fact that a lot of work is being done at KNU named after T. Shevchenko to study the history of the Ukrainian diaspora and train specialists who will subsequently be sent to the Ukrainian Embassies in other countries of the world.

The teleconference was also attended by students of Al-Farabi KazNU, who are on an internship in Kiev, who shared their impressions of KNU named after T. Shevchenko and the capital of Ukraine.

Representatives of Ukrainian ethnocultural associations of the districts M. Zhumabaev, Akkayynsky and Shal akyn of the North Kazakhstan region also became active participants in this dialogue. They spoke about the preservation of the language, their traditions, customs and noted the full support from the leadership of the Republic of Kazakhstan for the development of ethnocultural identity of Ukrainians, as well as all ethnic groups living in Kazakhstan.

Upon completion of the event, students of M. Kozybaev NKSU had the opportunity to ask participants of the teleconference questions.
