Honesty and transparency – the main principles of anti-corruption work of the University

One of the main principles of our University is the prevention of corruption, integrity and academic integrity. A significant event in this direction was the holding of an online conference at the University on the ZOOM platform "Prevention of corruption: problems and solutions", with the participation of the head of the Republican project office "Sanaly urpaq" Kairzhan Tokushev, the head of the Department of education Gulmira Karimova, the Directors of TIPO, representatives of the PO "Sanaly urpaq".

Opening the meeting, head of the Department of the anti-corruption Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for the North Kazakhstan region Yernar Bayangazin noted that the North Kazakhstan region is working to form an anti-corruption Outlook of the younger generation in three main directions: through voluntary school clubs "Adal urpaq", student clubs "Sanaly urpaq" and integrity schools. In Petropavlovsk, such Schools are opened in the regional library named after S. Mukanov and in our coworking center. Yernar Bayangazin praised the ongoing work to create openness and transparency in the University. "M. Kozybayev NKSU is not just a member of the League of Academic integrity of Kazakhstan, but also one of the initiators of its creation," he said.

Kairzhan Tokushev focused on aspects that need to be adopted by the leaders of organizations engaged in anti-corruption activities: to take into account international standards when working on the prevention of corruption, systematize preventive functionality, conduct open risk analysis and monitoring within educational institutions.

Acting rector Yerbol Issakayev said that the Anti-corruption strategy for 2020-2025, the Code of Ethics, its own Academic policy and rules of academic integrity have been developed and implemented at the M. Kozybayev NKSU, and the project office "Sanaly urpaq" has been opened.

In the current academic year, he has implemented more than 15 projects: bookcrossing zone, debate tournament, meetings of activists and University management "Open space", online legal consultations, social volunteer project "Accelerator of good", essay contest "My contribution: the role of youth in the formation of anti-corruption culture", art competition, etc. On the page of the project office "Sanaly urpaq" launched an information project "AdalTALK".

An interesting experience was the involvement of volunteers in the exams as observers. At the moment, during the summer session, more than 10 student volunteers as proctors monitor the progress of its implementation in a remote format. The educational process includes the disciplines "Fundamentals of anti-corruption", "Fundamentals of law and anti-corruption culture", "Academic writing".

On the University's website, there is an online portal "Anti-corruption", which contains information about vacant state educational grants released in the course of training, free places in dormitories, the order of providing apartments for teaching staff and employees, data on student progress and channels through which you can report corruption in the University. The online format provides services for settling in dormitories and registering for sports clubs.
