Grand Prix of the competition "We are together" received the ensemble "Sherter"

You can admire talent not only with your own eyes, but also remotely. This was proved by the Republican online contest of children, youth, youth and adult creativity "Biz birgemiz" in Karaganda. It took place for the first time and helped identify gifted performers from all over Kazakhstan. The participants sent their video appearances, and the winner was determined by viewer likes on Instagram.

The Grand Prix was won by the folklore-ethnographic ensemble “Sherter” of M. Kozybayev North Kazakhstan State University!

The collective was created more than 20 years ago to popularize Kazakh folk and professional music, to revive the sound of ancient instruments. And also, for familiarization with the youth’s native culture. Today it includes about 20 people. The children gain skills in playing the Kazakh national instruments: dombyra, sherter, adyrna, sybyzғy, kyl kobyz, saz-syrnai, zhetygen and others.

The ensemble is led by Zhanar Mukhataeva, a senior lecturer in the department of musical disciplines.

The sound of ancient Kazakh instruments combined with student energy and talent is the recipe for the success of the Sherter collective!
