Republican competition of young poets "Mushaira", dedicated to the 175th anniversary of Abai

This year marks 175 years of the great poet and thinker Abay Kunanbayev. As part of the celebration of the anniversary, the Ministry of Information and Social Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan together with the NPLC "Center for Support of Civil Initiatives" is organizing the republican competition of young poets "Mushaira".

To date, the regional organizer of this event in the North Kazakhstan region is the Institute of Social and Humanitarian Research "Rukhani zhangyru" of M. Kozybayev NKU.

Young writers, poets, journalists and representatives of other categories of youth aged 16 to 29 can take part in the competition. The competition includes works dedicated to Abay: 2 poems (for poets) or 2 short prose (for writers). The language of work is Kazakh/Russian. Works are submitted electronically.

The republican competition consists of two stages. The qualifying round in the regions will be held from August 10 to September 30, 2020. The final stage will be organized from 1 to 20 October 2020. Three winners of the regional qualifying stage will receive a ticket to the republican stage of the "Mushaira" competition.

The Grand Prix of the competition is 500 thousand tenge, the winner of the first place will receive a cash prize of 300 thousand tenge. Also, the owner of the second place will receive 200 thousand tenge, and for the third place a cash prize of 100 thousand tenge is provided. In order to ensure openness and transparency of the competition, the republican stage will be fully recorded on video. When evaluating the works of the contestants, the preservation of the ideological and compositional integrity of the work is taken into account. By taking part in this competition, you will not only hone your skills, but also you have a unique chance to declare yourself as a talented poet or writer at the republican level.
