Kozybayev University opened an Educational center for leadership development

This year, our university has joined the international project "Development of Skills and Teachers Training for leadership / DeSTT", which is being implemented within the framework of the European Union Erasmus+ program. It aims to finance and promote modernization, sustainable development of the education system, vocational training, youth policy and sports both between European countries and between them and partners around the world.

The consortium of the DeSTT project includes 11 universities from Europe, Russia, Kazakhstan and Mongolia. It is designed for 3 years.

An important stage in its implementation in our university was the opening of the Educational Center for Leadership Development. It will host seminars, trainings, master classes, conferences for teachers of the North Kazakhstan region. Teachers' classes will be held free of charge on an ongoing basis. Lecturers will be colleagues from partner countries, teaching staff of the alma mater, school directors of the North Kazakhstan region and others. Erasmus+ allocates 13 thousand euros for the purchase of equipment for the new center. Teachers will be able to improve their professional competencies, leadership qualifications, and develop soft-skills. Also, the result of the project will be the development of a new interdisciplinary magistracy module that combines pedagogical, sociological, legal, economic and management elements. The release of an electronic textbook is planned.

The opening ceremony of the Educational Center for Leadership Development was attended by the acting Chairman of the Board-Rector of Kozybayev University Yerbol Issakayev and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the National Team of Experts on Higher Education Reform Erasmus+, member of the DeSTT project working group Serik Omirbayev.

Then a workshop was held with coordinators from Italy, the University of Cassino and southern Lazio, Barbara Sbardella and Alessandro Figus. The event summed up the results of six months of work on this case and outlined the goals and prospects for its further implementation.

The project "Development of Skills and Teachers Training for leadership / DeSTT" is intended to make education and training of teachers in the field of leadership more effective, aimed at maximizing their interaction with the local community, and the introduction of innovative methods.
